Member for Cootamundra Steph Cooke is urging the community to pause and reflect on Police Remembrance Day.
Every 29 September the men and women who have lost their lives in the line of duty are remembered.
Ms Cooke said it was an important day to remember the service and sacrifice of our police officers.
“The NSW Police are often the first on the scene in an emergency, witnessing terrible events, putting themselves in danger, and going above and beyond to keep our communities safe,” Ms Cooke said.
“In 2020 we have seen them work round the clock during the summer’s bushfire crisis and take on the responsibility of enforcing public health orders to keep us all safe and healthy, while continuing their work in protecting the community. This is an enormous workload and I am incredibly grateful for their dedication.”
