Member for Cootamundra Steph Cooke has congratulated the Bribbaree Show Society on reaching 100 years of celebrating community spirit and agriculture.

“Reaching 100 years is an extraordinary achievement and a demonstration of generations of volunteers who have worked endlessly to keep this wonderful tradition alive,” Ms Cooke said.

“The Bribbaree Show is the heart of the community, bringing together families, farmers, businesses and visitors to celebrate everything that makes our region so special.”

Ms Cooke thanked the committee and volunteers who have ensured the Show continues to prosper.

“On behalf of our entire community, I congratulate president Matthew Hunter, secretary Charlie Coddington, treasurer Mandy Schiller and the whole committee, past and present, for their passion, hard work and vision,” Ms Cooke said.

“Many people only see the excitement of show day, but behind the scenes are countless hours of planning, fundraising, organising and community building.

“This centenary belongs to every volunteer who has contributed over the last 100 years.”

Ms Cooke also congratulated the remarkable ladies who participated in this year’s Young Woman Competition.

“A special congratulations to Maddie Noakes on being named the 2026 Bribbaree Show Young Woman,” Ms Cooke said.

“The competition continues to showcase the outstanding leadership, confidence and community ethos of young women across our region.

“I also congratulate Maddie’s three fellow entrants, Penny Rae, Zoe Hunter and Dana Yerbury. You should all feel extremely proud of the way you represented yourselves, your families and your community.”

Ms Cooke said the 100 year milestone of the Bribbaree Show is a reminder of the vital role agricultural shows play in the Cootamundra electorate.

“For 100 years, the Bribbaree Show has been producing memories, cultivating local talent and boosting community connections,” she said.

“Here’s to the next century of country pride, friendly competition and community spirit.”

President Matthew Hunter has thanked his committee for giving their all to the event and for working to adapt to the threat of rain on the horizon.

“It was a bit of a blur to me cause we were run off our feet,” Matthew said.

“As the day went on, it got better and better. We need to confirm, but it looks like it was a record crowd.”

Judging for the Bribbaree Show Crop Competition will be held at the end of this week, with the competition winners to be announced in the coming weeks.
