STATE FLAG REQUESTS
I am pleased to be able to provide from The NSW Government, free of charge, New South Wales State Flags, to recognised youth associations, and selected non-profit, charitable and community groups.
In order to be eligible, the recipient organisation must have access to facilities which permit the proper flying or display of the flag on a regular basis.
All requests are to be submitted through my office via the following documentation:

Request as an organisation
Please note the following:

State Flags are not provided for individuals
-
State Flags are not provided for use overseas or to interstate bodies

State Flags may be loaned for a specific purpose for short periods (e.g. a national sporting competition where all States are represented.)

Flags may be replaced when worn. Requests for a replacement will normally be considered after a period of 3 years.

Approved Bodies
Organisations must meet one of the following criteria and have the facilities to permit the proper flying or display of the flag in order to be eligible:

Schools
-
Including pre-schools, kindergartens, private, independent, religious and tertiary educational establishments (1 flag per school).

Hospitals (1 flag per hospital)
-
Recognised voluntary or not-for-profit youth, sporting or community organisations. (e.g. Scouts, Girl Guides Groups, Bowling Clubs – 1 flag per organisation).

Where a number of groups meet in one hall (1 flag per hall).

Headquarters of groups do no qualify.

Community service groups including:

Senior citizens clubs (1 flag per club)

Ex-Service organisations (1 flag per organisation)

Country Women’s Association (1 flag per organisation)

Lions club (1 flag per club)

Rotary clubs (1 flag per club)

Apex clubs (1 flag per club)

Multi-cultural community organisations (1 flag per organisation)

Volunteer rescue organisation (1 flag per organisation)

NSW Local Councils (1 flag per council)

Members of NSW Parliament (1 flag per member)

Nursing homes, retirement villages (1 flag per organisation)

Places of worship (1 flag per building)

Agricultural, pastoral and horticultural show societies (1 flag per organisation)

Museums and NSW historical societies (1 flag per organisation)

NSW court houses (1 flag per location)

Emergency services stations (1 flag per station)
The Australian National Flag, the Australian Aboriginal Flag and the Torres Strait Islander Flag can be obtained free of charge by contacting your local Federal Members office.

PLEASE NOTE: The Australian National Flag, the Australian Aboriginal Flag and the Torres Strait Islander Flag can be obtained free of charge by contacting the electorate office of your local Senator or Member of the House of Representatives.
Please also note that you cannot apply for a State Flag if you have received one in the past two years.
