A roadshow of insurance companies is set to visit Harden to meet with residents and business owners affected by February’s severe hailstorm.
On Wednesday, 6 August and Thursday, 7 August, the Insurance Council of Australia (ICA) and its member insurers will be available at the Harden Country Club to discuss individual claims, provide claim-related advice, and share general information about recovery support.
Member for Cootamundra, Steph Cooke has welcomed the announcement, acknowledging the number of residents and businesses still waiting for their claims to be finalised.
“The hailstorm that hit Harden earlier this year caused widespread and devastating damage,” Ms Cooke said.
“Six months on, many residents and businesses are still working through the recovery process, and I know how challenging that can be.
“I’m grateful the Insurance Council of Australia has responded to our calls for support, and I strongly encourage anyone with an unresolved claim to take advantage of this opportunity.”
The Insurance Council of Australia will be available, along with the following insurers:

Insurance Council of Australia CEO, Andrew Hall, said the localised event resulted in significant damage to many homes and businesses in and around Harden.
“In the months since this event, insurers have been working hard to assess, repair and finalise outstanding claims, but we acknowledge there is still work to do,” Mr Hall said.
“We know having the opportunity to speak with your insurer face-to-face provides immense value to policyholders, so I encourage anyone with an outstanding claim to come along and speak with their insurer to work through any remaining issues or concerns.”
Registrations for the consultations are essential. Bookings can be made on the ICA website here.
