MORONGLA SHOW A CELEBRATION OF COMMUNITY

Thursday, 8 October 2026
Member for Cootamundra Steph Cooke has joined with locals to prove once again why agricultural shows remain at the heart of rural communities at the 2026 Morongla Show.

Ms Cooke congratulated the Morongla Show Society, volunteers and exhibitors on delivering an outstanding event with locals and visitors coming together for what was a successful day of community connection.
“The Morongla Show is a fantastic example of what makes our small communities so special,” Ms Cooke said.
“It brings people together, celebrates local talent and agriculture and keeps alive traditions that have been passed down through generations.”
The event attracted strong participation across a range of categories with exhibitors displaying top quality livestock, produce, arts, crafts and home grown achievements, including some very impressive canola, wheat, barley and oat samples.

Ms Cooke was on hand to witness CWA Land Cookery Judge Leona Irvine publicly judge the Man Made Chocolate Cake Competition with Jackson Wright winning due to his taste, texture and presentation and was able to catch up with winner of the Welding Competition Sarah Langfield.
“Agricultural shows are about much more than competition,” Ms Cooke said.
“They are an opportunity to showcase the hard work of our local people while strengthening the social fabric of our communities.”
Ms Cooke has applauded the Committee volunteers were have spent hours planning and delivering the event.
“Events like the Morongla Show wouldn’t happen without the dedication of volunteers,” Ms Cooke said.
“Their commitment behind the scenes is extraordinary and they deserve enormous credit for creating such a welcoming and successful day.
“It was wonderful to see families enjoying the attractions, catching up with neighbours and supporting local exhibitors,” Ms Cooke said.

“The atmosphere throughout the day showed the strong sense of pride that exists within the Morongla community.”
Morongla Show Committee president David Langfield thanked his committee and all of the entrants and stallholders who took part in the fantastic event and inducted two life members during the official opening.
“We have two people who have done a lot of work over the years with our show and we have decided to hand out two life memberships,” David said.
Carolyn Cameron was presented her life membership for her years exhibiting and on the committee in various roles as well as her contribution to the show through the CWA and Red Cross.
The second life membership was presented to Graham Wallace for his contributions to the show through massive efforts in the wool and sheep pavilions throughout the years.
Secretary Madeline Webster was incredibly proud of the work the committee had done to continue the fantastic tradition and is excited with what the committee has planned for next year.
