SUPPORTING YCAC WITH OPEN GARDENS

Cootamundra member Steph Cooke MP is encouraging the community to support one of the region’s most important social services at the upcoming Young Crisis Accommodation Centre (YCAC) Nubba Gardens fundraiser.
The event will raise money for YCAC, which is helping members of the community from across the electorate who are experiencing homelessness, domestic and family violence and housing insecurity.
“For many, YCAC provides more than emergency accommodation; it offers safety, support, advocacy and a way forward to stability and independence,” Ms Cooke said.
“YCAC provides a lifeline for some of the most vulnerable members of our community at a time when they need it most. Communities across the Cootamundra electorate are known for looking after one another, and this fundraiser is a wonderful opportunity to show our support for an organisation that changes lives every day.”
The fundraiser will also raise awareness of the increasing demand for crisis accommodation and support services across the local region and the state.
“Organisations like YCAC are often working tirelessly and quietly behind the scenes, but their impact within the community is profound,” Ms Cooke said.
“I encourage everyone to attend, support the fundraiser and learn more about the incredible work YCAC does throughout our region,” Ms Cooke said.
“Every dollar raised helps YCAC continue to provide essential services for individuals and families facing incredibly difficult circumstances.”
