COMMUNITY MEETING ABOUT GRENFELL’S MAIN STREET UPGRADE

Member for Cootamundra Steph Cooke invites members of the Grenfell community to a meeting this Friday evening about the Grenfell Main Street upgrades.
Ms Cooke has asked representatives from NSW Public Works Advisory to attend and address the meeting in relation to the project.
“It is crucial we find a way forward for Grenfell’s Main Street upgrades and I have called this meeting so as to speak directly with Grenfell’s proud small business community and local residents more broadly,” Ms Cooke said.
The meeting will be held this Friday evening, 29th April 2022 from 6pm to 7pm at the Grenfell Bowling Club.
“I would like to see as many members of the Grenfell small business community there as possible and I will be sure to provide an update to the community on discussions had on the night,” Ms Cooke said.
The Grenfell Main Street project officially commenced with a sod turn in December 2020, funded with the support of three NSW Government grants to Weddin Shire Council, including:
$768,982 from the first round of the Stronger Country Communities Fund to extend footpaths and improve accessibility, new plantings, seating and sculptures,
$2 million under the Regional Growth Fund to upgrade the Grenfell CBD streetscape, and
$179,961 under the third round of the Stronger Country Communities Fund to create locations for events and tourist engagement and infrastructure for future access to power for electric car charging.
