Three Probationary Constables have been deployed to police stations in Cootamundra, Cowra and Temora, strengthening frontline policing and helping to keep local communities safe.

Member for Cootamundra, Steph Cooke, welcomed the new officers and said it was encouraging to see additional police commencing service across the electorate.

Probationary Constables Ryan Holt (Cootamundra), Brody Forster (Temora) and Jasmine Vitagliano (Cowra) have each begun 12 months of mandatory, on-the-ground training, serving as General Duties officers.

The new recruits recently graduated from the Goulburn Police Academy as part of Class 367. Earlier this month, Ms Cooke visited Probationary Constables Holt and Forster to congratulate them on their achievements and welcome them to their new roles.

“The arrival of our three new probationary officers is very welcome and provides an important boost to policing across our region,” Ms Cooke said.

“These officers will play an important role in keeping our communities safe, and it’s great to see more police gaining valuable experience in our rural and regional areas.”

Probationary Constable Ryan Holt is a third-generation NSW Police officer, following in the footsteps of his father, and grandfather, who were also stationed in Cootamundra.

“Policing can often be a dangerous and uncertain job, and we are indebted to all police officers who serve with distinction and put their lives on the line to protect our communities,” Ms Cooke said.

Ms Cooke said she is looking forward to meeting Probationary Constable Vitagliano in the new year.
