Tuesday, 27 October 2026
Member for Cootamundra Steph Cooke attended and spoke at the 95th Country Women’s Association (CWA) South West Group Conference and AGM, celebrating the outstanding contribution of CWA members across the region.

The conference brought together members from branches across the South West Group to reflect on achievements, talk about important issues for regional communities, and plan for the future. It was held in a spirit of friendship, service, and community leadership.
Ms Cooke said she was grateful for the chance to speak at the event and to recognise the outstanding work done by CWA members.
“For 95 years, the South West Group of the CWA has spoken up for regional women and communities, pushing for positive change and delivering practical support where it’s needed most,” Ms Cooke said.
“The effort and generosity of CWA members keep having a real impact in towns and villages across our region.”
Ms Cooke congratulated everyone who helped make the Conference and AGM a success.
“Whether it’s helping local families through tough times, speaking up for better services, keeping community links strong, or creating opportunities for women, the CWA is still a key part of rural and regional New South Wales.
“I thank every member for their ongoing commitment to supporting others and making our communities stronger.”
The Conference also gave members a chance to celebrate the group’s history and think about future priorities and the challenges regional communities face.
Ms Cooke said the CWA stays strong because it brings people together and stands up for issues that matter to country women and their families.
“The CWA has been one of the most respected groups in regional Australia for a long time, and its ongoing advocacy and community service are just as important today,” Ms Cooke said.
Ms Cooke wished the new office bearers well and thanked all members for their ongoing contribution to the South West region and the wider Cootamundra electorate.
