Ms Cooke said Children’s Week offers an opportunity to acknowledge every child's wellbeing and potential, while pointing out the importance of supporting young people to thrive.

“Children bring enthusiasm, creativity and new ideas and they represent the future of our region,” Ms Cooke said.

“Children’s Week is a valuable reminder of the responsibility we all share to provide safe and caring environments where all children can learn, grow and reach their full potential.”

Ms Cooke recognised parents, carers, teachers and early childhood educators who play an important role in caring for and supporting children across the Cootamundra electorate.

“Across our towns and villages, many individuals are working every day to give children the best possible start to life,” Ms Cooke said.

“Whether it’s in our schools, sporting clubs or childcare centres, their commitment helps shape confident young people.”

Ms Cooke encouraged local families to take part in Children’s Week activities and events across the region.

“Children’s Week is a chance to celebrate childhood, listen to young people’s voices and recognise the incredible value they bring to our communities,” she said.

“I thank everyone who contributes to the wellbeing of children across the Cootamundra electorate and look forward to seeing our communities come together to celebrate this important week.”
