The NSW Government's Business Bus will roll into Grong Grong, Sandigo and Barellan to provide small business advice tailored to landowners and businesses in a period of drought this week.

Small business owners in and around Grong Grong, Sandigo and Barellan can hop on board the bus next week where they will receive independent advice from experienced business advisors.

Narrandera Shire Council came up with the idea to target drought-stricken farmers and local businesses feeling the pinch with the NSW Government’s bus service, and Member for Cootamundra Steph Cooke was thrilled to support it.

“The Business Bus is part of the NSW Government’s multi-million dollar Business Connect program which supports small businesses to thrive,” Ms Cooke said.

“Of course at the moment we’re facing unique and challenging circumstances for our local businesses trying to survive in an environment of drought, so the bus will be staffed by experts literate in the NSW Government support available for landholders as well as townies running the local bakery or coffee shop.

“This is a great way to utilise a wonderful, existing NSW Government resource, and I hope to see everyone making the most of this free support when it parks in your neck of the woods this week.”

The Business Bus will visit the following locations between 9am and 4pm:

  • Grong Grong – Junee St, Grong Grong (opposite park) on Wednesday September 12

  • Sandigo – Sandigo Hall, Sturt Highway, Sandigo on Thursday September 13

  • Barellan -  Barellan town centre, Yapunya St on Friday September 14

Ms Cooke will drop by the Grong Grong session to touch base with local producers and business owners.
