Member for Cootamundra Steph Cooke has welcomed new police officers to the region, as they join the beat in the electorate.
Ms Cooke said Constable Adam Kong is based in Ardlethan, Senior Constable Joshua Iglesias is in Coolamon, while Constable Kenton Craig is in Ganmain.
“On behalf of the community I warmly welcome Adam, Joshua, and Kenton to the area as they join a fine team of locally-based officers who work so hard each and every day, to keep our towns and villages safe,” Ms Cooke said.
“It is always great to see officers having the opportunity to hone their skills in a regional community,” she said.
Ms Cooke said postings like this bring new people to the regions, where they can build a life and become part of the community.
“I encourage locals to get acquainted with the new officers as knowing these soon to be familiar faces reinforces the trust and reliance our small communities have in our police officers,” Ms Cooke said.
“These officers are joining an outstanding team with the Riverina Police District, who go above and beyond every day in carrying out their duties.
“Policing can often be a dangerous and uncertain job, and we are indebted to all our police officers who serve with distinction as they put their lives on the line to keep our communities safe,” she said.
