FAMILIES URGED TO LOOK LOCAL THIS FATHER’S DAY

With Father’s Day just around the corner, local families are being asked to look local when planning how and where to celebrate Dad this Sunday.

Father’s Day once again gives locals an opportunity to recognise and celebrate their male role models and the vital impact they have on us and across our rural communities more broadly.

Member for Cootamundra, Steph Cooke, is encouraging families to plan something special on Sunday to recognise fathers and father figures.

“Many men across the Cootamundra electorate quietly contribute to their households, businesses and communities without seeking recognition,” Ms Cooke said.

“Father’s Day is the perfect excuse to make the dads and grandads in our lives feel special and to show that their contributions throughout the year are valued by those they love most.”

Choosing local businesses for Father’s Day celebrations and gifts delivers benefits that extend well beyond the weekend.

Whether it’s a Sunday Roast at the pub or a simple breakfast in bed made with love and local produce, Ms Cooke is urging residents to spend locally after the quieter winter trading period.
