Member for Cootamundra, Steph Cooke, is encouraging local event organisers to apply for funding to support both established and new events across the electorate.
The Destination NSW Regional Event Fund has been created to support events in regional areas with the potential to become a flagship tourism event, attracting overnight visitors and delivering long-term benefits to the region.
Ms Cooke is encouraging local organisers, associations, councils, and community groups to apply for this funding, which will benefit the region.
“Events are really important for our communities because they give people the opportunity to visit, stay locally and spend locally,” Ms Cooke said.
“On top of this, events stimulate our local economy through engaging local businesses such as food and beverage and infrastructure suppliers, tradespeople and staff, who all contribute to the delivery of a successful event.”
There are three levels of funding that can be applied for, from the creation of an event through its development to its establishment as a tourism event.
Grants can be applied for and used for activities such as marketing and exposure outside the home region or LGA.

Applications close Midnight on Sunday, 12 April 2026.
