HILLTOPS LOCKDOWN EXTENDED

NSW Health today announced that due to the evolving risk to the community in rising case numbers, the stay-at-home orders for the Hilltops local government area will be extended for another seven days from tomorrow, until Friday 1st October.
Member for Cootamundra, Steph Cooke said although these are challenging times, the community’s response has been outstanding.
“I know this is disappointing news but I would like to praise the community for the efforts they have made so far in slowing the spread of COVID-19,” Ms Cooke said.
This announcement follows the confirmation from NSW Health of 2 new cases in the Hilltops LGA up until 8pm last night which brings the total number of active cases in the area to 14, with five cases being cared for in Wagga Wagga Base Hospital.
“Testing numbers among the community have been amazing and I thank those who have come forward and continue to come forward for testing. I also thank all of the health professionals that have been involved to meet testing demands.”
People who live, work or have recently travelled through the Hilltops LGA, are encouraged to come forward for testing due to ongoing transmission in the area.
