Jugiong has celebrated the official opening of the newly upgraded Jugiong Memorial Pool, marking the completion of the well anticipated project.
Hilltops Council successfully delivered the upgrades with $1,044,850 in funding from the NSW Government’s Stronger Country Communities Fund Round Five.
The improvements include an upgrade to the main pool, refurbished kiosk and amenities, and new ancillary equipment to enhance the overall visitor experience.
Member for Cootamundra, Steph Cooke said the completion of the works is a great achievement for the whole community.
“It’s exciting to see this project complete just in time for summer,” Ms Cooke said.
“The new and improved facilities will encourage residents and visitors to spend more time outdoors, keeping active and connected.”
Ms Cooke said the project is also a wonderful example of how government investment directly benefits regional communities.
“By engaging local contractors and sourcing materials locally wherever possible, this project supported jobs and businesses right here in the Hilltops area,” she said.
“It’s wonderful to see what can be achieved when we work together to create lasting spaces for families and future generations.”
The upgraded Jugiong Memorial Pool is set to welcome swimmers for another busy summer season, offering a modern, safe, and accessible space for everyone to enjoy.
