Member for Cootamundra Steph Cooke has congratulated everyone involved in the 2026 Junee Show.

Ms Cooke said the annual show featured the very best of the Junee district, bringing together families, local businesses and agricultural exhibitors for a memorable day of competition and entertainment.

“The Junee Show continues to be one of the region’s premier community events, displaying the talent and generosity that make our country communities so special,” Ms Cooke said.

“From the outstanding pavilion exhibits and livestock competitions to the entertainment and attractions for families, the show reflected the strength and pride of the Junee community.

“Events like the Junee Show are only possible thanks to the unceasing efforts of volunteers who work throughout the year to ensure this treasured tradition continues.”

Ms Cooke paid tribute to the Junee Show Society Committee and volunteers for their dedication to organising a successful event.

“Well done to President Nick Heffernan, Secretary Therese McMullen, and everyone on the committee and who volunteered to make the day such a huge success,” Ms Cooke said.

A highlight of the day was the Young Woman Competition presentation, recognising the leadership, involvement, and contribution of young women in the local community.

Ms Cooke congratulated the winner, Hayley Morris and the three other amazing entrants.

“Congratulations to our Young Woman Competition winner, Hayley, and all entrants for the way they represented themselves and their community,” Ms Cooke said.

“These young women are wonderful ambassadors for Junee and exemplify the leadership and community spirit that will help shape the future of regional New South Wales.”

Junee Show Society secretary Therese McMullan credited her committee and the many helpers throughout the day for the success of this year’s show.

“I want to thank everyone on the committee and all our amazing volunteers who work tirelessly through the year to get things done,” Therese said.

“If it weren’t for them, we wouldn’t have a show.”

Therese said the committee was very pleased to welcome the Rodeo back to this year’s show, this was the first time in many years Junee has seen a Rodeo back at the show, and the crowds were definitely pleased.

Although final gate numbers haven’t been finalised, the committee is very happy with attendance and participation in the various competitions held throughout the day.

“We received feedback from stallholders and people on the day that it was the best show they have been to in ages,” Therese said.

Ms Cooke also thanked the community for supporting the show as exhibitors, competitors, or attendees.

“Country shows are an important part of our regional identity, bringing people together, supporting local organisations and acknowledging our agricultural roots,” Ms Cooke said.

“The Junee community should be enormously proud of another outstanding show.”
